- Salt, to taste
- Coconut slivers
- Onion — diced
- Curry leaves
- Coconut oil
Preparation
Step 1
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil or a kadai.
Step 2
Add all ingredients expect curry leaves and coconut oil one by one.
Step 3
Add required salt.
Step 4
Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or till it is well cooked.
Step 5
Adjust salt.
Step 6
Sprinkle with curry leaves.
Step 7
Finally, add a little coconut oil. Koorka Mezhukkupuratti is ready to eat, serve with rice.
Tip
Grated coconut goes in last and cooks just long enough to warm through. Overcooking makes it chewy instead of soft.
