- 20 nos Chakka chula (raw jackfruit flush
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- Oil — for frying
- 1 cup Water
Preparation
Step 1
Cut chakka chula or the jack fruit flesh/bulbs into thin wedges.
Step 2
Mix turmeric powder and salt in one cup water and set aside.
Step 3
Warm the oil in a kadai,Fry in batches in medium heat,do not over crowd the pan,and sprinkle turmeric salt water just before taking out from oil.Be extra care full with the oil.
Step 4
Transfer it into a strainer and when cool transfer to air tight containers.
Tip
Good shallots are the backbone of Kerala cooking. They should be small, pink-purple, and strong-smelling. Large onions can substitute, but the flavour will be different.
