Fluffy Banana Fritters-Pazham Pori
Banana fritters-pazham pori is a weakness and all time favorite snack of most of the malayalees.It does not require any great cooking experience.Any pazham pori lover can make it quickly.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 3 Banana
- 1 cup Sugar
- 11/2 cup All purpose flour
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
- Salt pinch
- Water, to taste
- Oil — for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Peel the ripe plantain and slice it into thin pieces and set aside.
Step 2
In a bowl add flour,egg,sugar,salt,cardamom powder and water as needed to make a semi thick batter.
Step 3
Dip the sliced banana pieces in the prepared batter.make sure that the batter is coated evenly in the banana pieces.
Step 4
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil and fry till it is golden brown.transfer to a kitchen tissue paper.
Step 5
Serve while still hot.
Tip
Good shallots are the backbone of Kerala cooking. They should be small, pink-purple, and strong-smelling. Large onions can substitute, but the flavour will be different.
