Yummy Prawn Cutlet
Crispy, golden, and gone before they cool down — these fried snacks are the kind of thing that appears with evening tea and disappears within minutes. Best eaten hot, right out of the oil.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 150 g Prawns
- 2 nos Onion — chopped
- 2 tsp Green chilly paste
- 1 tsp Ginger paste
- 1 tsp Garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- Curry leaves, a few
- 4 nos Boiled Potato — mashed
- Pepper powder, to taste
- 2 nos Egg
- 1 cup Bread crumbs
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Prawn cutlet, marinate the prawn with chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt. Chop the prawns finely. Set aside.
Step 2
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil and light fry the prawn. In the same pan sautT the chopped onion with green chilly paste, ginger and garlic.
Step 3
After 5 minutes, add garam masala and pepper powder and Stir everything together thoroughly. Then add curry leaves and chopped prawns.
Step 4
Mix these with boiled and mashed potato and allow to cool.
Step 5
Make cutlets with the mixture. Dip it in egg and then in bread crumbs.
Step 6
Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the cutlets till it becomes brown. Prawn cutlets are ready.
Tip
Oil temperature is critical. Too hot and the outside burns before the inside cooks. Too cool and the snack absorbs oil and turns soggy.
