Tuna Mix
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 1 servings
- Tuna
- Onion
- Tomato
- Masala powder
- Salt
- Coconut milk
- Ginger garlic paste
- Soya sauce
- Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Heat the oil in a frying pan.
Step 2
Add onions and stir, until it becomes golden brown.
Step 3
Add masala powder, ginger-garlic paste and tomatoes and stir for a while.
Step 4
When it becomes a paste format, add water and allow it to boil.
Step 5
Whe it starts boiling, add the tuna pieces and cook for 5 - 6 minutes.
Step 6
Allow the water to dry up so that we can get this in a semi solid form.
Step 7
Add soya sauce and coconut milk.
Step 8
Simmer for about 2 minutes.
Tip
Do not rush the onion and shallot frying. The difference between pale onions and properly browned onions is the difference between a flat dish and a flavourful one.
