Gooseberry's Recipe [AMLA]

Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- Amla: 10 fresh
- 3 Broken red chilli: 2
- Turmeric powder: ½ tsp
- Ajwain: 1 tsp
- Salt to taste: 2 tsp
Preparation
Step 1
Wash and prick amla’s all over with a fork. Put this amla into a bottle.
Step 2
Add broken red chillies, turmeric powder, salt, ajwain and add lukewarm water.
Step 3
All amlas must dip into the water.This amla get all masalas taste, ajwain, chilli, salt and turmeric.
Step 4
Keep this amla in the sunlight every day for 1 week and serve. Even children also like to eat this amla. It can be kept for 1 month.
Tip
Coconut oil is the default cooking fat in Kerala kitchens. It adds a depth of flavour that other oils simply cannot match in these recipes.
