Tuna Fry
A proper Kerala fry — mixed tossed with shallots, curry leaves, and ground spices until each piece is dry, dark, and packed with heat. The coconut oil is not optional.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 200 g Canned tuna
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 nos Onion — sliced
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 2 tbsp Coriander leaves — chopped
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Set a kadai over medium heat and pour in the oil or a pan.
Step 2
Add the sliced onions and fry, till it becomes slightly brown.
Step 3
Add turmeric powder,chilly powder,garam masala powder and stir for 2 min.
Step 4
Add tuna,chopped coriander leaves and salt.
Step 5
Fry till it becomes slightly brown.
Tip
Coconut oil is not optional in a Kerala fry. It adds a flavour that no other oil can replicate.
