Tomato Chicken Curry
A tasty gravy dish prepared with lots of tomatoes and onion. The tangy flavored spicy curry serves as an excellent side dish with rice, chappati, almost anything. one of the easiest of dishes with minimum ingredients required.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 250 g Chicken
- 2 nos Onion
- 3 nos Tomato
- 2 nos Green chilly
- Ginger — crushed
- 4 Cloves Garlic — crushed
- 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- 1 tsp Red chilly powder preferably Kashmiri Chilly
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Chicken masala
- 1 tbsp Corander powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- Curry leaves, a few
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Tomato Chicken Curry, first Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and add fenugreek seeds. When it starts to allow to crackle, add chopped onion and salt. cook until onion goes golden brown. Then add crushed ginger and garlic.
Step 2
Add chopped tomatoes and green chilly. cook until it is soft.
Step 3
Add all powdered masalas and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Add cleaned chicken, Fold everything together gently and cook for three whistles.
Step 5
Now the curry is ready, add some curry leaves and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 6
Tomato Chicken Curry is ready.
Tip
Bone-in chicken gives a richer, more flavourful gravy than boneless. The marrow flavours the curry as it cooks.
