Tiger Prawns Fried
Fresh prawn cooked the Kerala way — with coconut, curry leaves, and a tartness that comes from kudampuli or tamarind. Coastal Kerala cooking at its simplest and best.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 10 nos Tiger prawns
- 3 nos Onions — chopped
- 1 nos Capsicum — chopped
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- 3 tbsp Oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing tiger prawns fried, marinate prawns in a mixture of chilly powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste and salt for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan and pan-fry the prawns on low heat till brown in colour.
Step 3
Cook sliced onions and capsicum in one tbsp of oil and mix with the fried prawns.
Step 4
Tiger prawns fried is ready. Serve hot.
Tip
Never stir a fish curry with a spoon. Shake the pot gently to coat the pieces — stirring breaks them apart.
