Thenga Manga Chammanthi | Coconut Mango Chutney
Pacha Manga Thenga Chammanthi, or Raw Mango Coconut Chutney, is a quintessential side dish in Kerala cuisine.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 12 nos Shallots
- 6 nos Dry Red chillies
- Curry leaves, a few
- 1/2 piece Raw mango Remove the skin and — cut into small pieces
- Half of a coconut — grated
- 1 tsp Kashmiri chilly powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tbsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Get all the ingredients and keep it ready.
Step 2
Pour oil into a pan and heat it and add shallots and Let it cook for 2 minutes. Then add curry leaves and dried red chilly. cook for another few seconds.
Step 3
Next, add mango pieces and cook for 30 seconds.
Step 4
Add grated coconut and salt.
Step 5
Add kashmiri chilly powder.
Step 6
Cook it for 2 minutes.
Step 7
Let it cool and grind it.
Step 8
Coconut Mango Chutney Dry is ready to serve.
Tip
Do not rush the onion and shallot frying. The difference between pale onions and properly browned onions is the difference between a flat dish and a flavourful one.
