Tasty Ullivada
Onions are finely sliced and mixed with other ingredients to make a paste. It is then deep fried in oil.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup All purpose flour Maida
- 4 nos Onions — finely sliced
- Curry leaves — finely chopped
- 3 nos Green chilly — finely chopped
- 3/4 tsp Chilly powder
- 2 tsp Ginger — finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- Water, to taste
- Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing ullivada, take a bowl, add maida, onions, curry leaves, green chillies, chilly powder, turmeric powder, ginger, salt and required water. Mix it well by hand and make it into a paste.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a fry in hot oiling pan. Scoop the prepared paste using a spoon and fry it in oil till it becomes golden brown.
Step 3
Ullivada is ready. Serve hot with ketchup.
Tip
Jaggery burns easily. Melt it on low heat and always strain it to remove grit before adding it to the mixture.
