Tasty Traditional Mutton Soup | Homemade Mutton Soup
A light, warming broth seasoned with black pepper and curry leaves. This is not the kind of soup that tries to be a meal — it is the kind that settles the stomach, clears the head, and warms you from the inside.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 100 g Mutton with lots of bones
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Cumin powder (Jeerakam)
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 tbsp Corn flour
- 4 nos Shallots — finely chopped (Kunjulli)
- 8 cup Water
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the And nutritious soup, first add turmeric powder and mutton to 8 cups of water in a pan.
Step 2
Bring to boil on a low flame, until the water reduces to 4 cups.
Step 3
Add cumin seeds powder, pepper powder & salt.
Step 4
Cover and let it bubble for about 2 minutes.
Step 5
Mix corn flour with 1/4 cup of water and pour the mix into the soup.
Step 6
Pour oil into a pan and heat it.
Step 7
Fry the shallots, until they goes golden brown.
Step 8
Pour it into the soup.
Step 9
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Step 10
Serve Homemade Mutton Soup hot.
Step 11
This Mutton Soup recipe can be used with chicken too.
Tip
If the gravy reduces too fast before the meat is tender, add hot water in small amounts. Cold water toughens the meat.
