Tasty Prawn Pickle
Prawns and other ingredients are added - Tasty Prawn Pickle.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1 kg Prawn — cleaned
- 1/2 kg Dry prawns
- 1/4 cup Vinegar
- 125 g Sugar
- 150 ml Gingelly oil
- 1 kg Tomato
- 150 g Ginger
- 150 g Garlic
- 150 g Dry chillies
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Prawn pickle, fry dry prawns with turmeric powder in gingelly oil. Set aside.
Step 2
Fry fresh prawns with salt in gingelly oil. Set aside.
Step 3
Grind tomato, ginger, garlic and dry chillies. Fry this in oil stirring it at intervals.
Step 4
Drop in the fried prawns, dry prawns, remaining oil, vinegar and sugar. Stir everything together thoroughly and allow it to cool.
Step 5
Store in a bottle.
Step 6
Prawn pickle is ready. Serve when required.
Tip
The jar must be completely dry and the spoon must be clean every time you take from it. Any moisture introduces bacteria and spoils the pickle.
