Tasty Peanut Choco Jam
Straightforward Kerala cooking — good ingredients treated well, spiced with confidence, and served without pretence. The kind of food that tastes like someone's kitchen, not a restaurant.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Peanut : 2 cup — roasted
- Icing Sugar : 1 cup
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder : ½ Cup
- 5 tsp Oil : 4
Preparation
Step 1
In a mixer grinder, powder the peanuts for about 2 minutes. Using a knife / spoon, stir it.
Step 2
Put on the grinder again for about 3 minutes until the natural oils from the peanut comes out and it will turn out to a thick paste.
Step 3
Add cocoa powder and icing sugar to this (you can increase the amount of icing sugar to 1 ½ cups if more sweet is preferred ).
Step 4
Enter Step.
Step 5
Grind well again for about 2 - 3 minutes. Add oil to this.
Step 6
Again Stir everything together thoroughly. The peanut - choco jam is ready.
Step 7
Store in a tight container, well refrigerated. It could be kept for about 2 weeks.
Tip
Coconut oil is the default cooking fat in Kerala kitchens. It adds a depth of flavour that other oils simply cannot match in these recipes.
