Tasty Fish Crumb Fry(Meen)
Slow-roasted in coconut oil with a generous hand of spices, this fish fry develops layers of flavour as it dries out on the pan. The patience pays off — every piece is coated and concentrated.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 250 g Fish
- 2 tsp Lime juice
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 Egg
- 2 tsp All purpose flour Maida
- 1/2 cup Bread crumbs
- Salt, to taste
- Oil to fry
Preparation
Step 1
Cut the fish into even sizes pieces. Wash and squeeze out extra water.
Step 2
Mix lime juice, pepper powder and required salt.
Step 3
Dip the fish pieces in this mixture and set aside for 15-20 minutes.
Step 4
Beat the egg. Add maida and required water to make a paste.
Step 5
Apply this paste on the fish pieces and coat gently with the bread crumbs.
Step 6
Fry both sides of the fish pieces in oil till golden brown.
Step 7
Serve while still hot.
Step 8
Note: While making bread crumbs be careful not to crush too much.
Tip
The final handful of curry leaves should go in right at the end, off the heat — they should crackle and crisp in the residual heat.
