Tapioca Cutlet
Mashed tapioca mixed with onion and other ingredients to make cutlets.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 11/2 cup Tapioca cooked and mashed, Kappa
- 1/4 cup Onion — finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp Ginger — crushed
- 1/2 tsp Garlic — crushed
- 2 nos Green chillies — finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 nos Egg white and yolk separate
- Turmeric powder A pinch
- Bread crumbs, to taste
- Curry leaves, a few
- Oil — for frying
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Place a pan on the stove and pour some oil. Heat the oil and fry crushed garlic and ginger. cook for sometime.
Step 2
Add chopped onion and green chillies. Fry for sometime.
Step 3
Add turmeric powder, pepper powder, curry leaves, mashed tapioca and required salt. cook for sometime and remove from fire.
Step 4
Add the egg yolk and mix together.
Step 5
Beat the egg white and set aside.
Step 6
Shape the tapioca mixture into small cutlets with your palm.
Step 7
Dip the cutlet in egg white and roll in bread crumbs.
Step 8
Place a pan on the stove and pour sufficient oil for frying. Heat the oil and fry the cutlets on both sides until golden in color.
Step 9
Tapioca cutlet is ready and serve hot.
Tip
Drain on a wire rack instead of paper towels — the rack keeps the bottom from getting steamy and losing its crispness.
