Sweet Aval With Jaggery and coconut
Sweet Aval with Jaggery and Coconut is one of the simplest sweet dish and it is very instant too. This Vella Aval is also healthy as aval and also jaggery is good for health. You can give this to kids as after school snacks.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 cup Aval/Beaten rice
- 1 cup Coconut — grated
- 3/4 cup Jaggery — crushed
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing this instant snack you can use any aval, thin or thick or any variety. I have used Kerala Red rice aval (thick variety). If you want to make it more crispy,heat a pan and dry Roast the aval for 5 minutes in medium flame.
Step 2
Get a plate and add grated coconut.
Step 3
Add crushed jaggery and mix it well with your hand.Make sure the jaggery you are using does not have any mud or impurities.
Step 4
Next, add the crispy/roasted aval.
Step 5
And mix very well with you hands.
Step 6
Serve it with a cup of black tea!
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
