Stuffed Fish Fry(Meen)
Slow-roasted in coconut oil with a generous hand of spices, this fish fry develops layers of flavour as it dries out on the pan. The patience pays off — every piece is coated and concentrated.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 2 nos Pomfret Avoli
- 1 nos Onion — chopped
- 2 nos Tomato — chopped
- 3 nos Green chillies — chopped
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tbsp Chilly powder
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- Semolina, to taste
- Rice flour, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing stuffed fish fry, heat oil, add garam masala, onion, tomato and green chillies.
Step 2
Add turmeric, 2 tsp chilly powder and coriander powder.
Step 3
Add vinegar and salt.
Step 4
Add little water and make masala.
Step 5
Mix semolina, rice flour and 1 tsp chilly powder in a plate.
Step 6
Stuff the fish with the masala.
Step 7
Coat the fish with semolina rice flour mixture and fry it in oil.
Step 8
Stuffed fish fry, a recipe is ready.
Tip
The final handful of curry leaves should go in right at the end, off the heat — they should crackle and crisp in the residual heat.
