Stuffed Fish
Fresh fish cooked the Kerala way — with coconut, curry leaves, and a tartness that comes from kudampuli or tamarind. Coastal Kerala cooking at its simplest and best.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 nos Fish fillets medium size
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1 nos Onion sliced, small size
- 5 nos Curry leaves
- 1 nos Tomato chopped, small size
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves — chopped
- 1/4 tsp Chilly powder
- Turmeric powder a pinch
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Marinate the fish fillets with chilly powder,turmeric and salt set aside for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Grind coconut,small onion,green chilly,cumin,turmeric and curry leaves together.
Step 3
Pour oil into a kadai and heat it, add coconut mix after allow to crackleing the mustard seeds.
Step 4
Add prawns and salt, cover it and cook it till it become dry and set aside.
Step 5
Cook the onion and curry leaves in oil till it becomes transparent.
Step 6
Add chilly powder,turmeric, garam masala powder, salt and cook well.
Step 7
Add chopped tomatoes and coriander leaves into it and set aside.
Step 8
Place the first fish fillet in a tin foil and keep all the prawns mixture on it.
Step 9
Cover it with other fillet and then keep all the masala mixture over the fish and fold it.
Step 10
Bake it in oven for 20 minutes and then Serve hot! :- Squeeze some lime juice before serve. :- We can grill the stuffed fish without masala.
Tip
Seafood cooks in minutes. The single biggest mistake is overcooking — the moment fish turns opaque or prawns curl and go pink, they are done.
