Spicy Pork Kerala Style
A rich exotic curry dish with a tempting flavor and aroma. The thick coconut flavored gravy goes well with rice, roti, chappatis, almost with anything. unique and special with cooked pork blended with spicy ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 kg Pork
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Pepper powder
- Salt As rqrd
- 1 tsp Vinegar
- 2 large Onions — finely chopped
- 5 To Green chilly Chopped)(add more if you want a very hot gravy
- 2 tbsp Fresh ginger — finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Fresh garlic — finely chopped
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 3 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Freshly ground garam masala
- 1/2 cup Thick coconut milk
- 4 tbsp Oil
- 2 nos Boiled potatoes — cut into big chunks
- 1 Tomatoes — finely chopped
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Spicy Pork Kerala Style, mix chopped pork with turmeric powder, pepper powder, salt and vinegar. Set aside for an hour.
Step 2
Cook the pork in a pressure cooker until fully cooked.
Step 3
Fry the onions in oil in a heavy bottomed pan. :- Add 1/2 tsp of sugar which will increase the flavour of the onions. After they turn slightly brown, add the chillies, ginger and garlic.
Step 4
Add the turmeric powder and fry for a minute.
Step 5
Add the garam masala. :- If required some pepper powder and chilly powder.
Step 6
Add the chopped tomatoes at this stage and fry till gravy turns slightly thick.
Step 7
Stir in the cooked pork mix into the pan. Mix them thoroughly and add half a cup of water and the coconut milk.
Step 8
Check the salt at this stage. :- Add the chopped potatoes (Optional).
Step 9
Put the lid on and cook till the spice permeates the pork.
Step 10
Uncover and stir the mix untill the gravy becomes thick.
Step 11
Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
Step 12
Try this spicy curry with rice or chappati.
