Special Tomato Rasam
This is a most easy and simple recipe of making tomato rasam.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 6 nos Tomato
- 10 nos Garlic
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/4 cup Tamarind juice
- 10 nos Peppercorns
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- Corriander leaves
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 5 nos Curry leaves
- 2 nos Dry chilly
- 1 tbsp Rasam powder
Preparation
Step 1
Boil tomatoes with 1 cup of water for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Add tamarind juice to this and let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Grind cumin seeds, pepper, garlic and coriander leaves.
Step 4
Add ground mix and set aside.
Step 5
Grind tomato pieces also.
Step 6
Blend them to get smooth puree.
Step 7
Next Heat the oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds When mustard crackles add dry red chilly and curry leaves.
Step 8
Add rasam powder to that and stir for a minute.
Step 9
Mix with tomato mix and mix all together.Then let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 10
Now rasam is ready.Add some coriander leaves to this.
Step 11
We can serve rasam with hot rice.
Tip
Add the tempering last and let the sambar rest for 5 minutes after. The flavours need a moment to settle.
