Special Easy Sambar
It is a kerala dish we can see in every sadhya.It is anice dish with rice andchappathi - Special easy sambar.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1/4 cup Toor dal
- 1 Onion
- 2 Tomato
- 4 Brinjal
- 1 tsp Asafoetida
- 4 Green chilly
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 bunch Coriander leaves
- Tamarind p
Preparation
Step 1
Cook toor dal,tomato,brinjal.Onion,turmeric powder and oil in a cooker for 2 minutes in a cooker ie,4 whistle.
Step 2
Add tamarind paste and let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add chilli powder and salt and let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Warm the oil in a kadai add mustard.When mustard allow to crackles add fenu greek seeds,red chilly and curry leaf,cook for a minute.
Step 5
Add coriander powder,chilli powder and asafoetida to this tempering,cook for a minute.
Step 6
Add this mix to curry and let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 7
Add coriander leaves to this and mix all together.
Step 8
Now easy sambar is ready.
Tip
Add the tempering last and let the sambar rest for 5 minutes after. The flavours need a moment to settle.
