Special Chicken Curry With Yoghurt
Rich, fragrant, and full-bodied — this chicken curry gets its depth from slow-cooked shallots and a careful balance of chilli heat and tang. Serve with appam, rice, or porotta.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 kg Chicken
- Cashew nuts Few — roasted
- Coriander leaves Few — chopped
- Onions, a few — sliced
Preparation
Step 1
Clean the chicken & cut into small pieces.
Step 2
Marinate the chicken pieces with a mixture of the marinating ingredients mentioned.
Step 3
Keep it refrigerated for 30 minutes.
Step 4
Fry the chicken pieces till half done.
Step 5
For preparing gravy:- 1)Heat the oil in a pan.
Step 6
Add curry leaves & onion. cook it, stirring well till onion turns brown.
Step 7
Add ginger garlic paste and sautT it till its raw smell goes.
Step 8
Add tomato pieces and sautT it till it becomes paste.
Step 9
Add chilly powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, garam masala & salt. Mix it thoroughly.
Step 10
Add yoghurt and just let it go for 2 Minutes.
Step 11
Add fried chicken pieces and mix thoroughly.
Step 12
Add 2 glasses of water and Let it cook for 15 minutes till the gravy becomes thick.
Step 13
Garnish with the ingredients mentioned(Good to eat with rice, chappathy & appam).
Step 14
Special chicken curry with yoghurt is ready.
Tip
Coconut oil and curry leaves at the very end, off the heat, give the curry its characteristic Kerala aroma. Never skip this final step.
