Soyabean Cutlet
Fat free and highly nutricious soyabean cutlets - Soyabean Cutlet.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1/4 kg Soyabean chunks
- 3 nos Onion finely chopped, medium
- 2 small Ginger — finely chopped
- 2 sprig Curry leaves — finely chopped
- 3 nos Green chilies — finely chopped
- 2 nos Potato
- 1 tbsp Fennel seeds powdered, Perum (Jeerakam)
- 1 tbsp Black pepper — powdered
- 100 g All purpose flour Maida
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Soak soyabean chunks for one hour in water. Drain the water and press dry. Crush in a mixer and set aside.
Step 2
Cook the potatoes in a pressure cooker and mash them.
Step 3
Get a frying pan and pour oil. Heat the oil and add chopped onions, chopped ginger, green chillies and curry leaves.
Step 4
Stir in the crushed soyabean chunks and sautT for sometime. Add powdered fennel seeds and black pepper and keep stirring.
Step 5
Add the mashed potato and required salt. Mix and stir on low heat.
Step 6
Make small cutlets with your palms and set aside.
Step 7
Get the maida in a bowl and add little water. Stir in low heat and make a paste.
Step 8
Pour oil in a pan for frying the soyabean cutlets. Dip each soyabean cutlet in the maida paste and fry in hot oil on both sides till golden brown.
Step 9
Soyabean cutlet is ready and serve hot.
Tip
Drain on a wire rack instead of paper towels — the rack keeps the bottom from getting steamy and losing its crispness.
