Soya Chunk Curry
It is a tasty side dish. It is an excellent source of protein.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 100 g Soya Chunk
- 1 nos Onion
- 2. Green chilli
- 1/4 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 small Tomato
- 1 small Ginger
- 2 Pod Garlic
- Cumin seeds — optional
- 1/4 Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- Salt to tas
Preparation
Step 1
Boil the soya chunks just for a minute,strain it and set aside.
Step 2
Grind the grated coconut with cumin seeds, chopped tomato, ginger, garlic, turmeric, chilli powder to a thin paste.
Step 3
Warm the oil in a pan, add chopped onion, green chillies, curry leaves and cook it, stirring well.
Step 4
Add the ground coconut mixture and cook it, stirring again. ( on low heat ).
Step 5
Add the soya chunks and salt, mix it well. Then add little hot water, Put the lid on and let it go for 5- 10 minutes.
Step 6
Serve it hot with chapathi, pooris or plain rice.
Tip
Let the curry rest for at least 15 minutes after cooking — the flavours deepen as it sits. Reheated curry almost always tastes better than fresh.
