Soft Wheat Puttu-Gothambu Puttu-kerala Breakfast
Soft Wheat Puttu is one of the healthiest of breakfast dishes in Kerala Cuisine.Wheat Puttu is one of the simplest of breakfast dishes with wheat flour sprinkled with water and required salt to form a coarse mixture.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 100 g Atta/wheat flour
- 7 tbsp Water may vary
- Coconut — grated
- Salt
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the traditional dish, first take a bowl and add salt and Atta. Stir everything together thoroughly and add water little by little and make a crumble. Then see the consistency of the flour and if its wet you can add more dry flour and whip.
Step 2
Add the wheat flour mix ito a mixer gringer and pulse it for 2-3 seconds.
Step 3
Fill the puttu mould by adding grated coconut and wheat flour one after the other. Steam for 10 minutes or till done.
Step 4
And healthy puttu dish is ready. Serve with ripe bananas or any curry dish of your choice. This is a healthy and wholesome dish that will take you through out the day in good spirits and mood.
Tip
Coconut oil is the default cooking fat in Kerala kitchens. It adds a depth of flavour that other oils simply cannot match in these recipes.
