Simple Chicken Samosa
Deep-fried until the outside shatters at the first bite and the inside stays soft and flavourful. A tea-time favourite across Kerala, especially when the monsoon rain is hammering the roof.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- Chicken (boneless) : 6 pieces
- Onion : 1/2 no
- Garlic : 2 cloves
- Ginger : a small piece
- Green chilly : 2 nos
- All purpose flour : 1/2 cup
- Wheat flour : 1/2 cup
- Chilly powder : 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder : a pinch
Preparation
Step 1
Cook chicken using little water and salt.

When it gets cooked take only flesh from it and grind it using a mixer.

Then heat a pan add oil and when it gets hot add onion,ginger, garlic and green chilly.

Give it a good stir and when its brawn add powders and cook well.

Next, add chicken and salt if needed.

Then make smooth dough using all purpose and wheat flour by adding water and salt.

Then make it in to small round shaped balls.
Step 9
Then by using a roller make it almost round shaped or square.

Cut it in to two.

Next, add the chicken mixture to it.

Then make it in to triangle shaped or ball shaped.

Then heat a pan add oil in it and when its hot fry samosas.
Step 15
Make it brawn both sides.
Step 16
Wipe off excess oil.
Step 17
Serve while still hot with tea or coffee.
Tip
Do not overcrowd the pan — fry in small batches to maintain the oil temperature. Crowding drops the heat and gives you greasy results.
