Simple Beef Curry Recipe
Cooked low and slow until the masala melds into the gravy, this beef curry carries the unmistakable warmth of Kerala spices — black pepper, curry leaves, and coconut. Pair it with steaming rice and a crisp pappadam.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 1 Kilo Beef
- 3 nos Onion medium
- 8 Cloves garlic
- 2 inch Piece Ginger
- 1 nos Tomato
- 11/2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 3 sprig Coriander leaves
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Keep pressure cooker on the flame, when it gets hot add oil in it and then 2 onion and little salt.
Step 2
Grind tomato, ginger, garlic and 1 onion using a mixer.
Step 3
When the onion gets brown add the coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt to it.
Step 4
Give it a good stir for 3 minutes then add the grinded mixture of tomato in to it and give it a good stir.
Step 5
Add beef in to it and Stir everything together thoroughly, add water if needed.
Step 6
Then close the cooker and wait for 7 to 8 whistle till it get cooked.
Step 7
When it gets cooked add coriander leaves in to it.
Step 8
Transfer to the serving dish.
Tip
The oil separating from the masala is your signal that the base is properly cooked. Do not add the main ingredient before you see those pools of oil on the surface.
