Semiya Payasam With Milk Powder-Easy Semiya Payasam
Semiya Payasam is a simple, yet festive pudding made of vermicelli, Sugar milk, dry fruits and flavored with cardamom.Today I thought of posting an easy recipe which can be done by using Milk powder. No more stirring the milk for a long time.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Vermicelli
- 1/2 cup Condensed milk
- 1 cup Milk powder
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 10 Each Cashew and raisins
- Salt pinch
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Heat 1 tbsp ghee and Roast vermicelli for 3-4 minutes in medium flame or roast till the semiya become lightly browned.
Step 2
Add 2 cup water,salt and crushed cardamom.Bring to a gentle let it bubble for 10 minutes.
Step 3
In the mean time take milk powder in a bowl add 1 cup water and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Pour the milk powder mix into payasam and Fold everything together gently.
Step 5
Add sugar, condensed milk and Stir everything together thoroughly.Bring to a gentle boil.
Step 6
Heat ghee in a pan and Roast cashew nuts and raisins for few seconds and pour into the payasam.take it off the heat and serve.
Tip
Never rush the milk reduction by increasing the heat. Scorched milk adds a bitter undertone that ruins the entire payasam.
