Sandalwood-Saffron Cooler
Straightforward Kerala cooking — good ingredients treated well, spiced with confidence, and served without pretence. The kind of food that tastes like someone's kitchen, not a restaurant.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 4 tbsp Lemon juice
- 2 Pinches Saffron strand
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder (Elakka)
- 4-6 tbsp Sugar
- 6-8 nos Ice cubes
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 11/2 tsp Sandalwood paste rub sandalwood with a little water on a flat surface
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing sandalwood-saffron cooler, put the saffron in a little warm water and rub till it dissolves.
Step 2
Pour this water to a larger bowl. Add 5 teacups of water, lemon juice, cardamom powder, sugar, salt and sandalwood paste.
Step 3
Pour it to glasses and add crushed ice to it.
Step 4
Sandalwood-saffron cooler is ready. Serve right away.
