Sambaram - A Traditional Refreshner
A hearty lentil stew loaded with vegetables, tangy tamarind, and a freshly ground spice paste — Kerala sambar is thicker and more coconut-forward than versions from other states. It gets ladled generously over rice at every meal.
Ingredientsfor 1 servings
- 1/4 glass Thick curd
- 1 nos Green chillies medium size
- 1 tbsp Onion — finely chopped
- 1/4 tbsp Ginger — finely chopped
- 1 Stem Curry leaves
- 3/4 glass Cold water
- Salt normally 2 pinches
Preparation
Step 1
Beat the curd for 2 mints with a spoon.
Step 2
Add all the ingredients to it except water and give it a good stir.
Step 3
Add the cold water and give it a good stir.
Tip
Add the tempering last and let the sambar rest for 5 minutes after. The flavours need a moment to settle.
