Red Spinach Stir Fry | Chuvanna Cheera Thoran
Chuvanna Cheera Thoran, or Red Spinach Stir Fry, is a classic Kerala dish known for its vibrant color, earthy flavors, and nutritional benefits.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 3 cup Red spinach Wash and finely chop
- 3 nos Green Chillies — slit
- 1/2 cup Coconut — grated
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Curry leaves, a few
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Wash and chop the spinach leaves nicely.
Step 2
Warm the oil in a pan and let the mustard seeds crackle in it.
Step 3
Add chopped spinach leaves, green chillies and Let it cook for 5 minutes in low flame.
Step 4
Get the remaining ingredients: grated coconut and turmeric powder and keep ready.
Step 5
Add the remaining ingredients and cook 3-4 minutes again. cook in low flame until dry.
Step 6
Red spinach stir fry is ready to serve.
Tip
Shred the vegetable as fine as you can — the thinner the cuts, the better the thoran. A sharp knife makes all the difference.
