Rava (Sooji) Laddu.
Rava (Sooji) Laddu, A quick sweet that is made with only a few ingredients like semolina, coconut, sugar, nuts and ghee/milk. It is a simple to prepare sweet on some specific occsions like diwali etc.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 200 g Rava
- 21/2 tbsp Ghee
- 10 Cashew — chopped
- 1 tbsp Raisins
- 1/4 cup Coconut — grated
- 1/2 Tin Condensed milk
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
- 10-12 Milk
Preparation
Step 1
Heat ghee in a pan, add rava and chopped cashews.Roast the rava on a low flame till it becomes light and the cashew also become slight golden.
Step 2
Add grated coconut ( make it dry in the oven or pan ) stir and roast for a minute or two.Add condensed milk and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 3
Next, add sugar, mix it well with the rava. Add cardamom powder and raisins, stir again.
Step 4
Slowly add milk and keep on stirring, mix very well. Once all the milk is absorbed and the sugar has dissolved, turn off the heat.
Step 5
Get small portion of the mix (apply some ghee in your palm )and make laddoos.
Step 6
The laddoos with hot tea or coffee.
Tip
When working with jaggery, always melt and strain it first. Even the best quality jaggery has some grit that needs to be removed.
