Oats Coconut Pathiri | Oats Thenga Pathiri
A staple flatbread of Kerala kitchens, cooked on a hot tawa until it puffs and develops golden spots. Tear it apart with your hands and use it to mop up every last drop of curry.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Oats — powdered
- 1/4 cup Grated coconut
- Water
- Salt, to taste
- Oil for greasing
Preparation
Step 1
Get a bowl add oats powder, grated coconut and salt to taste.
Step 2
Add little by little water to make a sticky dough.
Step 3
Divide the dough into small balls. Take a pathiri pressing pan, apply little oil and press into pathiri rounds. Cook the Oats Coconut Pathiri on one side till cooked and flip over the other side also till done. You can apply some oil too while cooking.
Step 4
Oats Thenga Pathiri is ready.
Tip
Brush with butter or ghee immediately after taking it off the griddle — the hot surface absorbs it instantly.
