Rava Laddu
A festival sweet that can be prepared very quickly with very less ingredients. Kids’ love Rava Laddu balls and the tasty sweet is simply irresistible.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 2 cup Rava
- 1/2 cup Coconut — grated
- 11/2 cup Sugar
- 3/4 cup Ghee
- Cashewnuts, to taste
- Raisins, as needed
- Cardamom, as needed
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Rava Laddu, fry the rava in a pan. Set aside.
Step 2
Add ghee into the pan and fry the cashewnuts and raisins. Keep them aside too.
Step 3
Fry the coconut in the remaining ghee till it turns reddish and set aside too.
Step 4
Place sugar and 1/2 cup of water in a pan on fire.
Step 5
Allow the sugar to get dissolved completely.
Step 6
You need not make it into a thick syrup.
Step 7
Add fried rava, fried coconut, fried cashews, fried raisins and cardamom into the pan.
Step 8
Reduce the flame and stir continuously.
Step 9
Take it off the heat.
Step 10
Allow it to cool.
Step 11
Make small Rava Laddu balls off the above mixture.
Step 12
If you find it hard to shape them into ladoos, do so after dipping your hands in milk. It will be much easier.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
