Quick & Easy Watermelon Lemonade
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Watermelon : 3 cups
- Sugar : ½ cup
- Cold water : 3 cups
- Lemon : 3 or 4 thinly cut slices
- Mint leaves, a few
- Ice cubes : 6 cups
Preparation
Step 1
Cut the watermelon into thin pieces and remove the seeds.
Step 2
Bring cold water and sugar to boil.
Step 3
Transfer the syrup once the sugar is dissolved to a bowl.
Step 4
Add the crushed ice cubes in a glass and the sugar syrup.
Step 5
Add the lemon slice and mint leaves.
Step 6
In a blender, add the watermelon.
Step 7
Transfer the grounded juice to the serving glass.
Step 8
Serve chilled.
Tip
