Potato Sambhar
Sambhar is the popular kerala recipe for every sadyas .This method is the easiest way to make and tasty sambhar.We can eat this sambhar with rice,idli and dosa.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 cup Potato
- 2 Tomato
- 1/4 cup Toor dal
- 3 Green chilly
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Oil
- 2 Red chilly
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
Preparation
Step 1
Cook toordal with 1 cup of water for 3 minutes in a cooker ie,3 whistle.
Step 2
Add chopped potatoes and tomatoes to this and let it bubble for 2 minute.
Step 3
Add onions and green chilly to this and boil for a minute.
Step 4
Next add turmeric powder and coriander leaves to this and boil for a minute.
Step 5
Warm the oil in a kadai add and add mustard,when mustard allow to crackles add fenugreek seeds,red chilly and curry leaf cook for a minute.
Step 6
Next add coriander powde,asafoetida, and chilli powde to this and Let it cook for 2 minutes.
Step 7
Add this tempering to vegetable mix and let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 8
Add chilli powder and salt and let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 9
Now potato sambhar is ready to serve.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
