Potato Ball
Straightforward Kerala cooking — good ingredients treated well, spiced with confidence, and served without pretence. The kind of food that tastes like someone's kitchen, not a restaurant.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 nos Potatoes medium
- 1/2 cup Coconut — grated
- 1/4 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 nos Small oniion (Kunjulli)
- Salt, to taste
- Oil — for frying
- Bread crumbs, to taste
- 1 nos Egg
Preparation
Step 1
Boil potatoes with salt.
Step 2
Mash it well and set aside.
Step 3
Make a chutney using coconut, chilly powder, onion and salt.
Step 4
Make small balls off the mashed potatoes.
Step 5
Keep the chutney inside the potato ball.
Step 6
Dip it in the beaten egg and roll it in the bread crumbs.
Step 7
Fry in hot oil till golden in colour.
