Porichunda
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 2 cup Rice flour
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 1 Overripe plantain
- 1 tbsp Black sesame seed
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 2 Pich Salt
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Get enough water, add 1 tbsp oil in it and Bring to a gentle boil.
Step 2
When it start boil,add sugar,black sesame seeds,salt,and chopped overripe plantain.Let it cook for 5 minutes in low flame.
Step 3
Add rice flour little by little at a time and turn off the heat.
Step 4
Convert into a bowl and Stir everything together thoroughly using hand and make a smooth dough.
Step 5
Make small balls out of the dough.using a stick make a hole in the prepared dough ball,from one side to another.
Step 6
Fry in hot oil the balls in hot oil until golden brown.take care when frying the balls,May be balls will be break from the pan.so make a distance from the pan.
Step 7
Soft and Porichunda is ready.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
