Pop Corn
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 2 Spoon Dry corn
- 1 Spoon Oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Place pressure cooker on stove.
Step 2
Put enough corn, enough salt and oil, till the top of corn.
Step 3
Close the vessel without weight on the top.
Step 4
Wait for about 2 minutes and turn off the heat.
Step 5
Open the lid and the popcorn is ready.
Step 6
You can add pepper powder for flavour.
Tip
Do not rush the onion and shallot frying. The difference between pale onions and properly browned onions is the difference between a flat dish and a flavourful one.
