Pazham Pori | Nadan Chayakkada Style Pazham Pori
Sweet, rich, and deeply satisfying — this is the snack that shows up at every Kerala celebration, temple festival, and Onam Sadya. Made with jaggery, coconut, and patience.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 5 Ripe plaintains
- 2 cup Atta
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 2 cup Water
- Oil to deep fry
- 1/2 cup Rice powder
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the healthy snack, first peel the plantains and slit it lengthwise. You can adjust the length and cut as per desired shapes.
Step 2
In a bowl take atta, turmeric powder, rice powder, salt and sugar.
Step 3
Add sesame seeds to this.
Step 4
Add water to this and Stir everything together thoroughly to prepare a nice batter. The batter should be thick and not too watery. Adjust the salt and sugar.
Step 5
Dip banana slices in this batter for 2 minutes. This is for the banana slices to properly absorb the batter.
Step 6
Warm the oil in a kadai and fry in hot oil the batter coated plantain slices.
Step 7
Fry till it turns golden yellow.
Step 8
Get the fried plantains in a strainer for draining excess oil.
Step 9
Now its ready to serve.the healthy snack.
Tip
The binding point is everything — cook the mixture just until it holds shape when pressed. Overcooked, it turns hard; undercooked, it crumbles.
