Pathiri - Traditional Snack
A staple flatbread of Kerala kitchens, cooked on a hot tawa until it puffs and develops golden spots. Tear it apart with your hands and use it to mop up every last drop of curry.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- Rice flour 1 cup
- Water 2 cup
- Salt, to taste
- Oil 1 or 2 table spoon
Preparation
Step 1
Boil 2 cup of water with salt and when it gets boiled add 1 table spoon oil and then add 1 cup of rice flour and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 2
Then off the fame.and close the bowl.
Step 3
Then using hands make a dough of this rice flour, you should mix this flour with hands for about 5 mint.

Then make small balls of this dough.
Step 5
Then using a roller and little rice flour,start rolling it.
Step 6
Then make it to round shaped one and to a thinner structure.
Step 7
You should pour little rice flour in between all pathiri you are making, otherwise it will stick together.
Step 8
Then heat a pan and when its hot put our pathiri to it.
Step 9
When it gets arised turn over pathiri.
Step 10
When both sides get cooked well, keep this in a casserole.
Step 11
Its ready to eat,so serve hot.
Tip
Brush with butter or ghee immediately after taking it off the griddle — the hot surface absorbs it instantly.
