Pappaya Stew
Chopped papaya cooked in coconut milk and mashed. Pappaya serves as a digestive aid to cure various disorders.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 500 g Pappaya chopped, Omakkaaya
- 1/2 Of Coconut — grated
- 3 nos Green chillies slit lengthwise
- Curry leaves, a few
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Get the thick extraction of coconut milk and set aside.
Step 2
Add some more water to the coconut and take the second extraction.
Step 3
Cook the chopped pappaya pieces and green chillies in the second extraction of coconut milk.
Step 4
Remove from fire and mash roughly the cooked pappaya.
Step 5
Add the thick coconut milk, curry leaves and required salt.
Step 6
Pappaya stew is ready and serve hot.
Tip
When the recipe says "medium heat," it means medium. Kerala cooking is not about high-flame drama — most of the work happens at a patient, steady temperature.
