Pacha Meen Porichathu
It is very difficult to resist Pacha Meen Porichathu as an accompaniment with your noon day meal. Fried fish finds a very favorite place in Kerala Cuisine. Spicy crispy Pacha Meen Porichathu is the favorite of every Malayalee.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 250 g Any Fleshy fish
- 1 tbsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, to taste
- 2 – Small onions — optional (Kunjulli)
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the traditional styled dish, first clean the fish well and cut them into big pieces.
Step 2
Make slits all over them with a sharp knife.
Step 3
Grind together all the powders along with onions into a fine paste.
Step 4
Marinate the fish pieces with the above paste.
Step 5
Warm the oil in a pan or a kadai.
Step 6
Add the fish pieces and fry till one side is cooked.
Step 7
Flip the side and fry till done.
Step 8
The dish with your noon day meal.
Tip
Patience at the dry-roasting stage is everything. The longer you let the moisture evaporate, the more concentrated the flavour becomes.
