Onion-Tomato Chutney
Ground fresh and served immediately, this chutney hits all the right notes — heat from the chillies, richness from coconut, and a sharp tang that cuts through rich curries and fried foods.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 nos Onion big
- 1 nos Tomato medium
- 1 nos Garlic pod
- 1 tbsp Bengal gram dal Kadala parippu
- 1 tsp Black gram (Uzhunnu)
- Curry leaves A, a few
- Salt, to taste
- Coconut oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Pour oil into a pan and heat it.
Step 2
Add bengal gram dal, black gram, curry leaves and garlic and fry for some time.
Step 3
Add onion, tomato and salt.
Step 4
Cook until onion has softened and golden and tomatoes are cooked well.
Step 5
Grind all the ingredients together.
Step 6
Goes well with hot dosas.
