Oats With Vegitable Soup
Oats, vegetables and other ingredients are cooked together in milk.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1/2 cup Oats
- 1/2 cup Mixed vegetables of your choice boiled
- 1/4 cup Mushrooms — finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Spring onions — finely chopped
- 11/2 cup Milk
- 1 tsp Butter
- 1 small Cinnamon (Karugapatta)
- 1 nos Green chilly — chopped
- 1/2 tsp Garlic paste
- Pepper powder A pinch
- 1 tsp Coriander leaves
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing oats with vegetable soup, melt the butter in a soup pot and add cinnamon, garlic paste, chopped spring onions, mushroom and green chilly. cook until the raw smell goes.
Step 2
Add the vegetables and salt. Fry for 2 minutes and set aside.
Step 3
Cook oats in 2 cups of water and add milk. Cook in low flame.
Step 4
Stir in the previously prepared vegetable mix. Mix and simmer for few minutes.
Step 5
Garnish is up to you. You can use fried bread pieces, fresh herbs, onion rings, pepper powder etc as garnish.
Step 6
Oats with vegetable soup, a low calorie soup recipe is ready.
Tip
Fresh curry leaves make a genuine difference. Dried curry leaves are a poor substitute — if you cannot get fresh ones, increase the quantity and fry them longer.
