Chennellari, aashaali, fenugreek seeds, chukku are added with other ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 50 g Chennellari
- 5 g Aashaali
- 5 g Fenugreek seeds (Uluva)
- 5 g Chukku Dry ginger
- 1/2 tsp Cumin powder podi (Jeerakam)
- Curry leaves, to taste
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Coconut — grated
- Ashtachoornam, to taste
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing nutritious karkadaka kanji, cook chennellari, aashaali, fenugreek seeds and chukku with required water.
Step 2
Grind the cumin powder, curry leaves, turmeric powder and coconut. Add it with the above kanji.
Step 3
Nutritious karkadaka kanji is ready. Serve with ashtachoornam.

Tip
Jaggery burns easily. Melt it on low heat and always strain it to remove grit before adding it to the mixture.
