Netholi Kerala Style
A home-style Kerala dish made with care and the kind of spice knowledge that comes from watching someone else cook it a hundred times. Each step matters, and the result is worth the effort.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 250 Netholi
- 2 Tomato big size
- 1 Onion big
- 2 Table Kasmiri chilly powder
- 1 Table Corriander powder
- 1/2 Table Black pepper powder
- 5 Green chilly
- Ginger one smal piece
- Curry leaves as requried
- 5 Table cococunt oil
Preparation
Step 1
Heat chatti, pour oil and allow to heat.
Step 2
Add chopped onion, garlic, and green chilly ( whole) cover with lid.
Step 3
Mix all the powders in a bowl and make a paste, put this pate in to the chatti and cook till the raw smell goes.
Step 4
Now pour one and half glass water in to this ( for tastier and thick content reduce the water to minimum), cover the lid.
Step 5
At the time of boiling, put tomato, once tomato smashes a bit put the fish and cover with lid and cook in low flame.
Step 6
Open lid, put curry leaves, if u want to reduce the water level at this stage remove the lid and cook for some time.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
