Nadan Thakkali Curry Easy
Rich, fragrant, and full-bodied — this tomato curry gets its depth from slow-cooked shallots and a careful balance of chilli heat and tang. Serve with appam, rice, or porotta.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 nos Onion — sliced
- 3 nos Green chillies
- 2 nos Tomato — sliced
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 cup Curd beaten
- Salt, to taste
- Turmeric powder A pinch
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing nadan thakkali curry, first heat a pan and let the mustard seeds crackle. Fry onion, green chillies and tomato.
Step 2
Add turmeric and salt.
Step 3
When tomato has softened, add curd and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Do not boil, take it off the heat.
Step 5
Nadan thakkali curry is ready.
Tip
Taste the gravy before adding the main ingredient. It should be well-seasoned and balanced on its own — the protein or vegetable will dilute it slightly.
