Nadan Kerala Ediyappam
It is a popular breakfast of kerala.It is a nice recipe,even kids and adults like this learn this from my mom.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Rice flour
- 11/2 cup Water
- Salt to taste Coconut oil-1tsp
Preparation
Step 1
Heat water in vessel, add little oil and let it bubble for 3 minutes.
Step 2
Get rice powder in a plate,Add this water little by little into rice powder and mix with hand carefully without burning.
Step 3
Then make this dough to a round soft dough.
Step 4
Fill this dough into idiyappam press and set aside.
Step 5
Then take idly plate and put little grated coconut into it.
Step 6
Next close the idiyappa presser.
Step 7
Squeeze the dough into idily plate.
Step 8
We have to squeeze this dough into full idly stand plates.
Step 9
Next in idli steamer add 1 cup water,when water starts boiling then put the stand inside steamer.Steam for 5 minutes.
Step 10
After 5 minutes we have to open the steamer.
Step 11
Next we have to remove this idiyappam from stand to plate with a spoon,Now idiyappam is ready.Serve hot with sugar or curry.
Tip
The swirling motion takes practice. Your first two appams will likely be imperfect — consider them warm-up rounds.
